PTA WCO FAN BLADES
Protect the Areas That Wear First
Abrasive particles wear away fan blade surfaces and leading edges. Over time, this material loss can affect blade balance and efficiency, leading to more frequent maintenance and replacement.
Canadian Innovative Materials manufactures fan blade liners with Tungsten Carbide Overlay, applied using Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) welding. Hard tungsten carbide particles form a wear resistant layer that helps protect the blade beneath from erosion and abrasion.
Wear protection is concentrated on leading edges, blade tips, and other areas exposed to the greatest wear to maximize wear life while minimizing cost. Our engineers tailor the overlay composition and pattern to the application, focusing protection where material loss is most severe. For applications where particle erosion is the main concern, CIM has developed our proprietary TungTough™ overlay.
Whether your industrial fans are used in mining, cement, power generation, pulp and paper, or material handling applications, we’ve got you covered! CIM can support both new fan designs and retrofit/rebuild applications.
Go Longer Between Replacements
CIM’s PTA WCO fan blade liners are designed to reduce blade material loss and help extend the time between replacements. Have a wear problem? Share your application with our engineering team! We will review the wear pattern and existing blade design to develop a custom liner configuration for your application. Whether you are specifying new equipment or addressing repeated wear on an existing fan.
